Your Session

Sessions generally last from 1-2 hours so that I can capture the best images possible. Your session should be a relaxed and fun experience, so please don't feel rushed or that your children need to look or act a specific way on demand. I will take a few minutes to allow you and your family to get comfortable with me and answer any questions you might have before we start.

There is always time for a snack or potty break, and you may change clothes as often as you like (keeping in mind that too many clothing changes can make for grouchy kids!). I always schedule enough time for us to relax and be unhurried. I want your portrait session to be fun for everyone!

I will come to your home or we can meet at one of the fabulous outdoor locations available to us here in Phoenix. For sessions in your home, I will arrive a few minutes early to look around and find the best lighting and spaces for your sessions and set up any equipment we may need.

I prefer to shoot in natural light, but always bring flash backup in case we need the additional lighting. Before your session we will discuss what type of backdrops (if any) you would like and any special requests you might have.

My style is casual, and I enjoy capturing the special moments that occur between families. You will often find me making silly faces or telling (bad) jokes. I strive to help everyone forget the camera is even there, so that I can get those gorgeous natural smiles! You will never hear me ask anyone to "Say Cheese", and I ask that you refrain from saying it as well! The best expressions are unconscious, and that is what I want to capture.
